Homefront

Released:  March 15, 2011 Consoles: Xbox 360, PS3, PC.

Story: Homefront tells a what if story of America on the losing end of a war with North Korea. Following the events of a perfect storm of catastrophe for the U.S. leading to its defeat. In Homefront you are a former soldier 2 years into Koreas occupation of the country. You meet up with some rebels to begin a counter attack on the KPA.

Gameplay: Homefront's gameplay felt like a mix of both Battlefield and Call of Duty. With a lttile polish it could have been a competitor with both.

Graphics: Homefronts graphics weren't all that great even at release it was never a particularly pretty game.

What they did well:

Campaign: The campaign was generic at times but usually pretty well written, there were some truly cool moments that were really only held back by the lacking graphics.

Multiplayer: The multiplayer had some really unique twists on the modern FPS gametypes. It really felt like an almost perfect cross between Battlefield and CoD. It played pretty well but there were a few things wrong with it.

What could have been better:

Multiplayer: The negative aspects of the multiplayer such as the lack of bullet penetration made camping and clipping(where thanks to camera angles players shoot through there head and not the gun)

Animations: There was always just something unnatural about them.

Driving: My memory isn't perfect but I remember driving to be pretty strange.

Generic weapons: Seriously they couldn't(didn't even try) to get the rights of any of the real weapons so there all knockoff versions.

Overall : 7.5

You know Writing this reminded me that THQ and Kaos studios both don't exist anymore which is pretty crazy. Its cool that Crytek got the rights to this franchise though, hopefully they can improve on the first one, mainly fix bullet penetration and make the game look better.
Also google is giving me hell with saving and previewing this so hopefully it posts alright.
